个人简介
Giuliana Franceschinis obtained her PhD in '92 from the University of Torino, in the same year she spent six months as a visiting scholar at the Computer Science Department of the Univ. of California at Los Angeles. In Nov. '92 she started working as an assistant professor at the Univ. of Torino, in Nov. '98 she became Associate Professor at the Univ. of Piemonte Orientale Alessandria Italy, and since Nov. 2002 she is Full Professor in the same university. Since July 2005 she is Chair of the Computer Science Department.
Since the first 90's she has been working on formalisms and solution techniques for performance and dependability evaluation of systems, contributing in particular to the development of the Stochastic Well-Formed Nets (SWN) formalism and related efficient analysis techniques and tools. She has also been involved in several projects (among these the EEC project TIRAN) where the above mentioned formalisms have been applied to case studies proposed by industrial partners (ENEL/CESI, TILAB, Ansaldo SF). Her current research interests include multi-formalism modelling and multi-solution techniques, developed within a framework supporting compositional construction of models. She has contributed in the design and development of the GreatSPN and DrawNet software tools, for the design and solution of GSPN, SWN and multi-formalism models. She has published more than 60 papers on international journals and conferences, is co-author of one book on GSPNs, and has been PC member of several international conferences and PC co-chair of QEST'04 (Int. Conf. on Quantitative Evaluation of SysTems). She is a member of the IEEE Computer Society.
