Currently, my research covers the interaction of intense and ultraintense lasers with matter. Concerning ultraintense lasers, my research aims at understanding laser-plasma interaction mechanisms in relativistic regime by using ultrashort Petawatt lasr systems, with applications to plasma-based X-rays or particles sources, and in particular to the acceleration of protons or light ions. Interactions with nano- and micro-structured targets is particularly interesting, due the onset of plasmonic effects in the high-intensity regime, which can be considered as an extrapolation of the well known solid state plasmonics.
