Since that time, my research has been focused on storage of cells, tissues, and organs for clinical application. This has involved research into biochemical and functional changes induced by (1)hypothermia where organs and tissues are stored in the temperature range of 1-4 Celsius in the liquid state, and by (2) cryopreservation at deep subzero temperatures,where the confounding factor of ice formation plays a major role. I was awarded DSc for works on application of low temperature sciences in 1998, and became Fellow of the International Society for Cryobiology in 2008 and Fellow of Society for Low Temperature Biology in 2022 .
