Frédéric Ménard

Frédéric Ménard is currently Science Advisor for French Overseas Territories of the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD, https://www.ird.fr/). He was previously Director of the Department OCEANS, climate and resources. He is a member of the governance and is involved in the scientific strategy of IRD. In addition, he is a senior scientist in the Research Unit MIO (Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography in Marseille, https://www.mio.osupytheas.fr) and leads research initiatives on the trophic functioning of marine ecosystems in the context of global change: feeding ecology, trophodynamics, fisheries and biodiversity. His activity focuses on large fish predators in the tropical oceans, and on the vulnerability of coastal ecosystems.
