My research interests include the following topics:
1. Efficient and parallel algorithms for analyzing the huge amount of biological data.
2. Computational characterization of genome structural variations and their induced phenotypes, e.g. cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and cancers in mammalian and pathogenicity islands in microbes.
3. Light weight cloud computing system for analyzing the high-throughput sequencing DNA and RNA data.
4. Protein's post-translational modifications and how they affect the thermo-stability and catalytic efficiency of biomass degradation enzymes from microbes and fungi.
5. Optimization of computational genomic algorithms and their parallel implementation.
6. Transcriptome manipulations, including alternative splicing and RNA editing.
My lab is rigorously exploring the above topics.
Specialties: Computational algorithm designing and implementation, parallel system designing, comparative genomics, transcriptomics, genome structural variation, computational characterization of biomass degradation system.
