Fabrizio Riguzzi obtained his laurea degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Bologna in 1995 with the thesis "Approaches for the Development of Knowledge-Based Systems for Classification" with Prof. Paola Mello as supervisor. In 1999 he obtained his PhD degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Bologna with the dissertation "Extensions of Logic Programming as Representation Languages for Machine Learning", with Prof. Maurelio Boari as supervisor. From the 1st of November 1999 to the 31st of October 2014 he has been Researcher at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Ferrara. Since the 1st of November 2014 he is Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Ferrara. The research activity of Fabrizio Riguzzi has focused on the field of artificial intelligence. In such an area, he has worked on various aspects of machine learning: 1) learning probabilistic logic programs, 2) learning abductive logic programs, 3) learning extended logic programs, 4) process mining, 5) learning from large datasets, 6) learning Bayesian networks, 7) genetic algorithms for belief revision, 8) discovery of association rules from microbiological data. He is the author of more than 100 peer reviewed papers. He was involved in four European projects, a number of local and national projects and various industrial projects. He was awarded a Young Researcher fellowship by the University of Ferrara for the research "Application of Machine Learning Techniques to Multi-Relational Databases". He is program chair with Filip Zelezny of the 22th International Conference on Inductive Logic Programming.
