Dr. Marques de Menezes is an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Laboratory Medicine at UCSF and Scientist at Vitalant Research Institute (VRI). She has over 6 years of research experience in the fast-growing field of extracellular vesicles and HIV pathogenesis, including expertise in measuring extracellular vesicles using the light-scatter sensitivity of the flow cytometry as well as NanoString nCounter profiling to measure extracellular vesicles cargo. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of HIV and aging, with special emphasis on novel mechanisms of immune signaling mediated by extracellular vesicles in HIV-associated complications, including cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders.
