Hi! My name is Eric. I received my MPhil degree in computer science from the University of Hong Kong. Then, under the support of Croucher Scholarship, I joined ETH Zurich in 2006 and obtained my Ph.D in 2007. At ETH Zurich, I was a member of the Systems Group. I joined Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an assistant professor in 2007 summer. Now, I am an associate professor. Before I returned to Hong Kong, I had worked for Google (Mountain View). I was also a visiting scientist of Microsoft (Redmond). I am a member of the database group and the director of the big data lab in the department. My recent research interests include big data analytic, cloud computing, and any algorithmic and system aspect related to data management on modern hardware.
