She is also the co-Programme Director of LLCW.
She received her PhD in Information Systems from the National University of Singapore and from research in characteristics of collaboration technology, her interests have broadened to group collaboration in computer-supported collaborative learning and learning analytics. With a base in Learning Sciences and Educational Psychology, she has examined and developed formative learning analytics systems to nurture learners’ lifelong learning skills as well as content mastery. In total, she has won about S$1.8 million of competitive funding since 2013. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Computers & Education, Asia Pacific Journal of Education, and The Asia-Pacific Education Researcher, as well as top conferences, namely International Conference on Learning Analytics and Knowledge and International Conference of the Learning Sciences.
She is lead Associate Editor of NIE’s youngest journal, Learning: Research and Practice. She is also on the editorial board of International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning. Additionally, she plays a key role in sub-conference C2: Computer-supported Collaborative Learning and Learning Sciences for the annual International Conference on Computers in Education. She is also involved in several MOE and NIE committees.
A mixed methods researcher, she has taught courses in education research methodology, social context of teaching and learning, and use of ICT for meaningful learning. She has also supervised students in the Nanyang Research Programme, Education Research, URECA and Master of Arts (Research) programmes.
