个人简介
The main research line involves the application of self-assembled systems, either for the preparation of nanostructured materials or to the improvement of surface properties. It is focused mainly for aeronautics and aerospace applications.
Silica, zirconia, iron oxide and ferrite nanoparticles have been prepared by the use of microemulsion systems, sol-gel process and Pechini method. Silica-zirconia based corrosion protection coatings have been prepared by the sol-gel method associated to the evaporation induced self-assembly process (EISA). Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS)-epoxy resin hybrid materials have been obtained by hydrolytic condensation to improve the polymer's thermal behaviour. Liquid crystal template has been used to prepare nanostructure mullite ceramic. Jatropha curcas oil has been used to prepare vegetable-base emulsion lubricants for the aeronautics industry.
