Eike Nagel is Chair of Clinical Cardiovascular Imaging, Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Imaging and Deputy Head of the Division of Imaging Sciences and Medical Engineering at King's College London as well as Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Trust. Professor Nagel’s main research interest covers all aspects of acquired heart disease with a special focus on ischaemic heart disease and the development of techniques to measure its severity and determine its significance. Prof. Nagel has developed several magnetic resonance imaging techniques for the assessment of patients with coronary artery disease and has translated them into clinical routine. He is the CI and PI in several prospective multi-centre trials,consortium member of several EU projects and national centres of excellence and provides core lab activities. His clinical service covers all aspects of cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, most notably ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, and heart failure. Profesor Nagel is known worldwide for his teaching abilities and offers regular courses at Kings College London and internationally.
