Efthymios I. Nikolopoulos received the B.Eng. degree in environmental engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Chania, Greece, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree in environmental engineering from The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, USA, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, USA, in 2010. He is currently an Assistant Research Professor with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Connecticut. He has authored 30 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of hydrometeorology, remote sensing of precipitation, flood hydrology, and landslide/debris flow prediction. Dr. Nikolopoulos was a recipient of several awards such as the NASA Earth System Science Ph.D. Fellowship and the Marie Curie IEF Post-Doctoral Fellowship. He has been an Associate Editor of Advances in Meteorology since 2015.
