个人简介
My academic career has been developed at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), with brief stays at other institutions (Laboratory of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience, Center for Biomedical Technology, Technical University of Madrid, 2011 and 2013; Neuropsychophysiology Lab, Center for Research in Psychology, University of Minho, 2014). My research activity has been focused on the study (by EEG/ERPs) of brain activity associated with different cognitive processes (attention, working memory, inhibitory control, etc.) in college students with a binge drinking pattern of alcohol consumption. I obtained my PhD from USC in 2014 through a DPhil scholarship (FPU program) of the Spanish Ministry of Education. At the beginning of 2016, I was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) of the Portuguese Ministry of Science and Technology. Currently, I am working in the Psychological Neuroscience Lab, Psychology Research Center (CIPsi), at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal).
My main area of interest at present is the study of the neurocognitive consequences of binge drinking in college students, as assessed by electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during the execution of different cognitive task (e.g., working memory and inhibitory control tasks). In addition, another area of focus is the use of cognitive training and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as a way to reduce alcohol drinking levels.
