Prior to the University service he worked as a professional hydrogeologist (Scientist D) in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, Govt of India. He has 23 years of professional/ industry/teaching experience in Geosciences with focus on groundwater and petrology. Three scholars took PhD with him, and guided five M.Phil. and several MSc thesis. Currently 6 research scholars work with him for PhD. He has 36 publications to his credit, out of which 25 are in international journals like Gondwana Research, Lithos, Precambrian Research, Geoscience Frontiers etc.. He bagged Young Scientist Award from Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment, Govt of Kerala. He is the recipient of outstanding reviewer award in Geology by Elsevier. He has edited four volumes with ISBN number. He has visited UK, Japan, UAE, China, Madagascar and Srilanka. Research interests are Petrology, Tectonics, Exploration Geology and Hydrogeology. He also serves as associated editor of Geoscience Frontiers , a high ranking journal in geology, run by Elsevier.
