Ellsworth G Dutton

Ellsworth G. Dutton was born in Iowa in 1949. He receiving the B.S. degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, in 1971, the M.S. degree in meteorology from Florida State University, Tallahassee, in 1975, and the Ph.D. degree in atmospheric science from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, in 1995. He was a Field Project Manager from 1975 to 1978 with Geomet Inc. From 1978 to 1980, he was a Research Associate with the University of Colorado, and from 1980 to the present, he is the Project Leader for the Solar and Thermal Atmospheric Radiation Project at the Climate Monitoring and Diagnostics Laboratory, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Since 1995, he has been the International Project Manager for the World Meteorological Organization/World Climate Research Program's Baseline Surface Radiation Network. He also serves on Research Science Teams for NASA and the U.S. Department of Energy. He was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Meteorology. Dr. Dutton is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the American Geophysical Union and a member of the AMS Committee on Atmospheric Radiation.
