Bio
Emmanuel Bossy was born in Aix-en-Provence, France, in 1976. He graduated in Fundamental Physics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan and University of Orsay Paris-Sud in 2000. He received his PhD in 2003 from the University Paris 6, in the Laboratoire d'Imagerie Paramétrique in Paris, supervised by Pascal Laugier. He worked on quantitative ultrasonic characterization of bone, in the context of the diagnosis of osteoporosis. From 2003 to 2004, he was a post-doctoral research assistant at Boston University, working with Pr. Ronald Roy, Robin Cleveland and Todd Murray. At that time, his research oriented towards biomedical imaging techniques involving the combination of light and ultrasound in biological tissue. In 2004, he joined the Physical Optics Laboratory at ESPCI ParisTech, now part of the Institut Langevin since 2009, where worked on acousto-optic and photo-acoustic imaging for biomedical applications, and non-destructive testing with ultrasound. In 2016, he moved to the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Physique (LIPhy) at Université Grenoble Alpes - CNRS, where he carries on his research on multi-wave imaging and propagation in complex media.
