Sandra C. dos Santos received the BSc and PhD degrees in Biological Engineering and Biotechnology from Lisbon Technical University, Lisbon, Portugal, in 2006 and 2010, respectively. For the past 8 years she has worked in the application of genome-wide approaches (chemogenomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and genomics) and molecular biology to several organisms and biological questions, ranging from prokaryotes to stem cells, with a strong bioinformatic component. She is the co-author of 13 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 1 book chapter, 9 oral presentations in national (5) and international (4) meetings, and 15 poster presentations in national (5) and international (10) meetings, in addition to participating in 10 national and international research projects. She has/is also supervised/supervising 1 PhD student, 2 MSc students and 4 undergrad students. Her research interests encompass Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis and comparative genomics, Clinical molecular epidemiology, Stress response and multidrug resistance, Genome-wide approaches applied to stem cell engineering, Yeast as an eukaryotic model, and Microbial Functional Physiological Genomics.
