Dmitry V. Lychagin was born in Tomsk/Russia in September, 1957. He received the diploma degree in solid state physics from the Tomsk State University, Tomsk/Russia in 1979. Since 1979 he has worked in the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building. From 1979 to 1993 he worked as scientist and then as assistant professor in the Department of Physics. Since 1993 he has worked in the Department of Materials Technology. He has defended doctor's dissertation “The plastic deformation organization of FCC single crystals of metals and alloys on different scale levels” in 2006. At present time he is a Head of the Department, Professor. His current research interests are focused on electron microscopy of metallic materials, analysis of their structures and properties. Dmitry V. Lychagin has authored more than 80 articles in journals and 2 monographs.
