Assoc Professor Srinivasan Dinesh Kumar is the Deputy Education Director at the Department of Anatomy and Integration Lead Educator at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUSMedicine). His concurrent appointments include Lead of the Continuing Education and Training (CET), Pre-clinical Lead of the Cardiovascular System (CVS) Block, Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Resident Fellow of Temasek Hall, NUS. As Deputy Education Director and Lead of the CET, he is actively involved in the development of modules/courses as well as curricula for undergraduate medical students and postgraduate residents at the NUS. His passion also lies in mentoring of undergraduate medical students. He is a House Mentor of CARITAS at the NUSMedicine. His research interests include e-learning platform, augmented reality for medical education, diabetes induced congenital heart defects, ageing, and tissue engineering. He has acquired several research grants and published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals including Nature, ADDR, Biomaterials, JBC, Diabetologia, FRBM, Anatomical Sciences Education, etc. He has published 5 book chapters and presented his work at international, regional and local scientific meetings. He has an H-index of 25 with over 2,000 citations. He serves as editor, reviewer for several journals and grant funding agencies. He also serves as the Chairman of the School Advisory Committee (SAC) of the Lianhua Primary School Singapore and the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Neuroscience Association. Prof Srinivasan received his MBBS from Government Stanley Medical College, The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, India. Subsequently moved to Singapore, where he obtained his MS and PhD from the National University of Singapore. He completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Molecular Cardiology at the renowned Cleveland Clinic & Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery at National University Hospital (NUH). He also trained at the University of Bristol, UK, on certain aspects of the Human Patient Simulator. He was the Founding Lead for Anatomy, Co-Lead for Human Structure and Function at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from 2012 to 2016. He also served as an Asst Dean of Exams and Assessments, LKCMedicine, NTU. He was awarded NUS Medicine Mentees' Choice award (Gold) 2023, NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award (ATEA) (University Level) in 2022; NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Teaching Excellence Award in 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22; NUHS Teaching Excellence Award in 2020, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Fortitude Award in 2020, NUS Medical Education Grand Innovation Challenge (MEGIC) Award in 2020 (Team Lead) and the Distinguished Long Service Medal from the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore in 2015 for his contributions to education and service.
