个人简介
My fields of research are the learning sciences (with a technological focus) and affective computing. My focus is on modelling group interactions and conceptualizing technology-based interventions to support them. I work on modelling and automating of methods to support socio-emotional and cognitive interactions for learning and personal development, develop models for computer-mediated interactions, and do empirical research to rigorously evaluate them. My expertise also includes moderating the communication between different stakeholders of digital technology who do not always share backgrounds and vocabularies.
I understand multimodal interaction and learning as the most important human characteristic. I am thus fascinated by the idea of socio-cognitive models that may encompass the complexity of human interaction. I am convinced that technology may help us derive such models, support and transform interaction processes in formal (schools) and informal settings. I am dedicated to overcoming potential pitfalls for progress (e.g. communication losses and biases) and to leveraging dynamic interaction (e.g. multimodal interaction, argumentation, socio-cognitive conflict, embodied / narrative-based learning) as possibilities for communication and learning.
