Main research interests are focused on models and tools for Web Information System (WIS) design, service-oriented architectures, resource discovery enabled through techniques, tools and theoretical foundations of the Semantic Web.
In the last years, Devis Bianchini has been involved in several Industry 4.0 and Smart Cities industrial projects as principal investigator or coordinator of the research unit of Brescia. Among them, the "Smart Manufacturing 2020" project (funded as part of the National Cluster "Smart Factory", 2014-2018), the "BSL Brescia Smart Living" project (funded in the Smart Cities and Communications and Social Innovation initiative, MIUR, 2015-2018), the "ODE: Open Data Exploration" project (co-funded in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, ex art. 15 L.N. 241/1990, 2016-2018), the "Smart4CPPS: Smart Solutions for Cyber Physical Production Systems" industrial project (funded by Regione Lombardia, POR FESR 2014-2020, 2017-2020), the "FISVAL: Filiera Integrata e Sostenibile per la produzione di VALvole Smart (Integrated and Sustainable Production Line for Smart Valves)" industrial project (funded by Regione Lombardia, POR FESR 2014-2020, 2020-2021). Research results have been published on more than 130 national and international conference proceedings, international journals and book chapters.
