Research Summary
We are examining the molecular pathways of signal transduction in primary afferent neurons of the mammalian olfactory and nociceptive systems. We are concentrating on the regulation of transduction channels and the generation of excitatory receptor potentials. Of particular interest for us is how these neurons adjust their sensitivity and bring about adaptation or sensitization.
