Deqiang Qiu received the Undergraduate degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He is currently an Associate Professor of radiology and imaging sciences with Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA, USA, with a Faculty appointment, Joint Biomedical Engineering Program between Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. Following his postdoctoral work with Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, he joined Emory University in 2013. He is the Program Director of MRI with the Center for Systems Imaging Core of Emory University School of Medicine, the Co-Director of the Biomarker Core of Emory Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and leads the imaging component of the Emory Healthy Brain Study. His research interests inlcude the development and translation of novel MRI methods to the clinic and applying imaging techniques to answer neuroscience questions. Studying and developing neuroimaging biomarkers for Alzheimer’s Disease has been a focus of his recent research efforts. He has extensive experience in medical image acquisition methods, the application of machine learning algorithms for image analysis and software development for data analysis. In addition, he has a comprehensive background in quantitative analysis, statistical analysis, signal and image processing, and mathematical modeling.
