Our goal is to deeper characterize the alterations of SLE NK cells, which are reduced in number, have a diminished cytotoxicity and are not able to adequately produce cytokines. Our aim is to clarify the underlying molecular mechanisms. To do so, we are analyzing the cellular immunometabolism of SLE NK cells in comparison to healthy NK. We mainly focus on identifying potential alteration in mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis pathways.
