David Okello Kalule

David Okello Kalule (PhD) currently works at the Uganda National Groundnuts Improvement, National Semi-Arid Resources Research Institute in Uganda. His current research includes breeding for high oleic, leafminer resistance, confectionery, aflatoxin tolerance, and early to medium maturing varieties in high yielding groundnut rosette disease resistant consumer and industry preferred backgrounds. We have initiated Marker Assisted Selection and fully adopted BMS for Digitalization of data capture, management, analyses and storage. A recently developed regeneration protocol will aid in introgressing additional traits. Gender mainstreaming and yield gains concepts are integral in our research agenda.
