Bio
David C. Kunkel received the B.S. and M.D. degrees from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, USA, in 2003 and 2008, respectively.
He completed a one-year research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. His internal medicine residency was completed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Kunkel is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and serves as the Associate Director of the GI Motility and Physiology Program at the University of California, San Diego. His research interests include gastroparesis, short bowel syndrome, innovations in biofeedback therapy and irritable bowel syndrome. He is a Member of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
