Bio
Antonio Dias received the bachelor's degree in physics in 2011 and the master's degree in photonics and laser technologies from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Santiago, Spain, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in applied engineering from the University of Navarra, San Sebastian, Spain, in 2017. In 2013, he joined Ceit-ik4, Technology Center associated with the Engineering School, University of Navarra. Then, he was Postdoctoral Researcher with Spanish Research Council until 2018.
From 2018 to 2021, he is the Chief Technology Officer with Alcyon Photonics S.L., spin off founded in 2018 with the support of a Venture Capital Fund. His current project with Alcyon Photonics focuses on Silicon Photonics, with designs powered by sub-wavelength structures with the aim of transferring the industrial property to the market. He has worked numerous research projects with public and private funds in different degrees of responsibility. In addition, he combines research with academic activities including co-supervision of master students and Ph.D. students. He leads the technical project with Alcyon, whose innovation potential has been awarded with a Neotec-CDTI finance grant, an Innovative SME seal and a European Commission Seal of Excellence.
