His graduate research focused on the function and pharmacological modulation of mitochondrial Na/Ca exchange and its role in cardiac metabolism. He has been with Lilly for 29 years. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Lilly studying the role of oxidized lipoproteins in atherosclerosis, Dave transitioned to clinical drug development and has been in a clinical scientist role since 2006. As a clinical research scientist, Dave has been medical lead on adult and paediatric global Phase 3 registration trials and has supported global regulatory submissions and clinical trial work across multiple therapeutic areas, including diabetes, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, muscular dystrophy, and urological disorders.
