My research is focused on development and applications of computational techniques in chemistry.
1. Theoretical study of reactive species
Reactive species are responsible for important reactions in the atmosphere and plasmas processes. High level ab initio calculations are employed to study the structures and reactions of these species. Reliable thermodynamics data and reaction rate coefficients are obtained which could be used in modeling studies to further understand the impacts and significances of these species in the atmosphere and other processes.
2. Chemical analysis of herbs and development of rapid analysis methods
The quality control of herbal materials receive more and more attentions around the world as more people take herbal supplements. Methods are developed based on near infrared spectroscopy to enable a non-destructive and quick analysis of herbs.
