Daniel Marschalek

My research focuses on the ecology of insects for the purposes of conservation. Population-level studies are designed to learn more about endangered species to inform recovery efforts. Community-level studies investigate insect ecosystem functions, such as pollination and decomposition. Working toward the conservation of insects often requires creativity and problem-solving, and a close partnership with resource managers and landowners.
