Dan Sun received the B.E. degree from Shenyang Jianzhu University, Shenyang, China, in 1997, the M.S. degree from Hohai University, Nanjing, China, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2004, all in electrical engineering.

From 2002 to 2004, she was a joint Ph.D. student at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.

In 2004, she joined the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, where she has been a Professor since 2018.

From 2009 to 2010, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics Consortium, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Madison, WI, USA.
