Bio
His research lies in the intersection between human-computer interaction (HCI) and artificial intelligence (AI). He is now co-leading IBM Research’s human-centered natural language processing (HC-NLP) strategy. In the past couple of years, he has led a team to conduct human-centered research and design user experience for IBM Automation of AI & Data Science strategy. Outside his IBM work, Dakuo is also broadly interested in how humans interact with real-world AI applications (e.g., conversational agents and clinical decision support systems). He argues “the goal of Human-Centered AI systems is to achieve Human-AI Collaboration.”
