Cosmin Chintoan-Uta

I am a postdoctoral core scientist in Professor Mark Stevens’ group, studying microbial and host factors in foodborne bacterial zoonoses. My personal interests are in studying host immunity and pathogen virulence factors to inform the development of vaccines and novel immunotherapeutics. Using my veterinary training, I developed and used in vivo farm animal models to study bacterial pathogens. I also conduct independent research on Histomonas meleagridis, a protozoan parasite of poultry.
