个人简介
The research of Cornelia Halin focuses on how leukocytes transmigrate through lymphatic endothelium. Leukocyte migration into lymphatic vessels represents one aspect of leukocyte trafficking, which has only been marginally studied to date. An important goal of her research is to identify and validate new (adhesion) molecules, which could serve as therapeutic targets to modulate immune responses.
Cornelia Halin Winter has been Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Immunology at ETH Zurich since October 2014.
Cornelia Halin was born on October 4, 1974 in Switzerland and was raised in Zurich. From 1993 to 1998 she studied biochemistry at ETH Zurich. After obtaining her diploma, she spent 6 months working as an intern in the Department of Molecular Oncology at Genentech Inc., San Francisco USA. She performed her PhD thesis in the field of antibody engineering and targeted tumor therapy at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of ETH Zurich, under the supervision of Dario Neri. After her dissertation in 2002, Cornelia Halin moved to Boston, USA, for a postdoc in the laboratory of Ulrich von Andrian at Harvard Medical School. She returned to ETH Zurich in 2005 for a second postdoc and subsequent senior scientist position in the group or Michael Detmar at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. From 2008 - 2014 she worked as an Assistant Professor at the same Institute.
