Congwu Du

Congwu Du is currently a Professor at the Department of Biomedical engineering, Stony Brook University, New York, NY, USA. She was trained as a Biomedical Engineer at the University of Luebeck, Lübeck, Germany, and has spent 20 years in the application of optical spectroscopy and imaging for characterization and detection of physiological processes in the brain and heart. Her current projects include the simultaneous detection of the cerebral blood flow, blood volume, and oxygenation as well as intracellular calcium in vivo using fluorescence and photon migration techniques. Her long-term goal is to develop optical imaging tools and to combine with other imaging modalities such as OCT, MRI, and PET for brain functional studies.
