个人简介
Colin Joye (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Villanova University, Villanova, PA, USA, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
In 2008, he joined the former Vacuum Electronics Branch, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC, USA, as a Karle Fellow. He was a Research Assistant with the Waves and Beams Division, MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center in 2002 and became a Visiting Scientist after completing the Ph.D. degree. His current research interests include vacuum electron amplifier sources at the millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths, and novel microfabrication techniques.
Dr. Joye was the recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2016, which included an invitation to the White House for congratulatory remarks and to meet the President. He was also the recipient of the Dr. Delores M. Etter Top Scientists & Engineers of the Year Award in 2013 for contributions to the U.S. Navy.
