I am Professor of Metamorphic Geology at the Open University, UK. My research interests revolve around investigating the rates and timescales of tectonic plate collisions. I use and develop different methods for determining when and how rocks record geological time, and compare observation and analytical data with predictions from numerical models to gain insight into Earth processes.
