Claira L. Safi

Claira Safi is a R&D engineer in the Intelligence and Space Research division at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she has worked since mid-2017. Before joining LANL, she received her Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Her primary experience and focus is in electrical and software development for multiple small-satellite (CubeSat) projects and payloads, one of which involves hyperspectral imaging. In addition, she has worked to help design and implement quantum key distribution hardware at LANL since 2018.
