I am a Senior Scientist and Founding Team Member at perceptiveIO (www.perceptiveIO.com) , a new Bay Area startup working on bleeding-edge research and products at the intersection of real-time computer vision, applied machine learning, novel displays, sensing, and human-computer interaction. I am interested in applied computer vision applications with a focus on depth estimation and image/video segmentation. Before I was working as a researcher at Microsoft (Redmond, US) where I was part of the interactive 3D technologies (I3D) group. At MS my work straddled the boundary between research and technology transfer. My collaborations included Xbox, HoloLens and Surface. I contributed to HoloLens and Holoportation that were recently announced. I also spent time embedded with the product group, working on many parts of the platform. Before moving to the US, I was a PostDoc researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge (UK). Before joining Microsoft I did another PostDoc at Vienna University of Technology. I also finished my PhD studies in Vienna under the supervision of Margrit Gelautz (TU Vienna) and Carsten Rother (Microsoft Research).
