RESEARCH INTERESTS:
I am broadly interested in the development of computational methods to understand and infer evolutionary processes at the genomic, population, and species level.
I am doing research in different areas of population genomics:
• Modeling the effect of complex demographic processes on the neutral and functional genomic diversity of a species.
• Studying the specific effects of range expansions on genomic diversity, and how genetic surfing can be distinguished from positive selection.
• Determining the factors (recombination, demography, dominance levels) favoring or preventing the accumulation of deleterious mutations in the genome.
• Developing statistical methods for inferring demographic parameters in complex evolutionary scenarios, including the handling of the spatial and temporal heterogeneity of ancient DNA samples.
• Detecting signals of polygenic selection and adaptive introgression in populations with complex demographies.
