Chris Winstead received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Utah in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Alberta in 2005. He is currently with the ECE Department at Utah State University, where he holds the rank of Associate Professor. Dr. Winstead’s research interests include error correction coding, digital signal processing for communications, micro-power error correction and signal processing circuits for communication systems, and fault-tolerant VLSI circuits. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed technical articles, and has raised more than US$1M in external grants and contracts to support his research activities. In 2010, Dr. Winstead received the NSF Career award for research in low-energy wireless communication circuits. In 2013 he was awarded a Fullbright Research Scholarship to perform collaborative research at the Universite de Bretagne Sud in Lorient, France. Dr. Winstead is a Senior Member of the IEEE and is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
