个人简介
In his professional life, Chris was an accomplished academic who loved knowledge and learning. In 1990, he was elected a Member of the Royal Society of Canada. A theoretical physicist, he was engaged in research, writing and publishing up to the time of his death. Those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him mourn his loss as a person, a loving and deeply loved family member, professional colleague, and profoundly loyal friend. There was nothing Chris enjoyed more than engaging in a discussion and exploring ideas ranging from physics problems to the follies and failings of our elected officials - unless it was a spirited game of Liar’s Dice with his brothers and extended family members. Chris was genuinely interested in everyone he met and always eager to engage in conversation about the interests and activities of others. A talented athlete in his youth, Chris was deeply interested in sports and followed the fortunes of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs, and the Toronto Raptors. He was a deeply kind and gentle man, devoted to his dog, Gordy, and Gordy’s predecessors Emily, Vivien, Ben, Max, Brinka and Mieka.
