I joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern Mississippi as an assistant professor in 2003.I served as the Director of School of Computing from July 2008 to June 2014. Currently I am a professor in computer science in the School of Computing.
My research interests include：
Data Mining, Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics (deep learning, clustering and classification, big data analytics for medical science and DOD applications, information retrieval)
Computational biology, bioinformatics and toxicogenomics (systems biology, microarray and next generation sequencing data analysis, gene network reconstruction, toxicity analysis)
Medical Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (3D medical image reconstruction, object detection, facial recognition and video retrieval)
High performance computing (parallel and distributed computing, modeling and simulation)
