Carlos Leon received the B.Sc. degree in electronic physics in 1991 and the Ph.D. degree in computer science in 1995, both from the University of Seville, Seville, Spain. He is a Full Professor of the Electronic Engineering Department at the University of Seville and currently Head of the Telefónica-Universidad de Sevilla Chair. His research areas include smartcities, smartgrids, cognitive systems, BidData Analutics, IoT and computational intelligence, Cyberphysical systems and Blockchain. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE Power Engineering, IEEE Communication and the IEEE Computer Societies
