Charalampos Tsoumpas

I am currently a Full Professor of Quantification in Molecular Diagnostics & Radionuclide Therapy at the Department of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging at the University of Groningen. I utilise mathematical and multi-physics approaches with computational methods and software for molecular imaging and particularly in Positron Emission Tomography. In my research, I am passionate in pioneering the development of imaging for the creation of disruptive and cutting-edge approaches that will significantly evolve medicine and healthcare towards earlier diagnosis and treatment of diseases. I have co-authored 75 journal articles, 50 conference papers, 90 abstracts, 2 book chapters, 3 theses, 2 invited scientific magazine articles and 2 international patents. My total share of funding income (including for PhD research) as Principal Investigator is about €1.25M. I have delivered around 45 invited oral presentations and according to Google-Scholar my work has received 3,100 citations (h-index: 27) of which 2,000 within the past 5 years.
