My overall research program aims to study the role of nutrition on immune function in the context of chronic diseases including obesity, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. More specifically, how specific dietary interventions can improve immune dysfunction related to chronic diseases. I use two approaches to answer research questions: I do control feeding studies in human and I use a mechanistic animal model.
