Chris P. Mainstone

I've worked on the characterisation, assessment and strategic management of freshwater ecosystems for nearly forty years. After 14 years in applied research in the UK and Europe I spent 20 years as a national specialist at government agencies for wildlife in England, responsible for internal guidance and external advice on freshwater habitats. Much of my more recent work has focused on integrated thinking across water and biodiversity objectives and between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
