Brett Bowman holds a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand. His primary research focuses on the prevention of crime, violence and injury. His more critical interests include the history of the social sciences, race, racism and other related social asymmetries and include macro-level analyses of the historical and contemporary interfaces between the South African sciences and the society in which they are embedded.
