My research investigates skeletal muscle function and adaptation across the life course, with special interest in the synergy between nutrition and exercise interventions to optimise performance in the broad sense. Current projects involving older adults: leucine and n-3 PUFA supplementation, and protein-rich diets with or without exercise; and in athletes recent projects include weight cutting, intermittent fasting and exogenous ketones amongst others.
