个人简介
Dr. Bo Guo studies the fundamental physical and chemical processes of fluid flow and transport in Earth's subsurface. His research group develops and uses novel mathematical and computational models to understand and quantify flow and transport processes in geological porous materials from microscale (i.e., pore scale) to laboratory scale and to real-world field-scale subsurface environmental and energy problems. While focusing on mathematical and computational modeling, Dr. Guo also frequently collaborates with experimentalists to utilize laboratory-measured parameters and field data sets to drive the models and validate the predictions. The practical applications of his research include fate and transport of emerging contaminants in soil and groundwater (e.g., per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)), gas/oil production from shale formations, and geological CO₂ storage.
